New Project

Hello,
How is everyone today? After sending off the finished matching sweaters, I am free to work on some of my other projects without feeling guilty. I started a sweater for myself this summer and after one row stopped myself because I was out of control and had something like 10 projects going at once. I have been working on becoming more disciplined. I always finish them, but it would take forever. So, now I am working on my sweater. Yeah! I got the pattern from Caron yarn and it is called a Penny Arcade Jacket. I got pretty far in the hour I let myself work on it today. The yarn is called Impeccable and is from Michael's store here in the States. I like it because it is acryllic and washable, but so soft and not too expensive. When I stopped working on that I made dinner and then gave myself an hour to work on my One A Day project. I need to figure out how to link and I will try to link the One A Day
group over at Raverly to my blog.  The premise of the group is to pick a large project and work on one part of it everyday. Like one square or stripe of a blanket. Alice from Crochet With Raymond is one of the coordinators of the group and it is her pattern for her Gypsy Caravan Blanket that I am making. I am still on leave from work and have time to work on the squares for an hour a day. So for the time being my One A Day is an hour and not one square. I should be going back to work in a few weeks and will then most likely be lucky to get one square in each day.
When I sat down to work on the squares and pulled out my project book, I had to laugh. I had not noticed that the blanket squares look very much like the book. I guess it is obvious what colors and designs I like. The notebook has exactly the same colors in it and I couldn't have made a pattern to look more like the design on the book if I had written the pattern myself. I need 224 squares and I have 15. Lots of work left.  My little one is ready for a bath and then we will read a story and get ready for bed. I hope everyone has a lovely evening and a wonderful day tomorrow.

Construction Day!

Hello Everyone,
I am so happy that people are starting to read my blog. I really enjoy reading all the creative blogs out there. This sweater project is just about done. All I have to do now is sew all the pieces together. I have to admit it isn't my favorite part of any project but I feel great when it is done. The matching striped sweaters are for my friends twin daughters and I am so excited to see the little munchkins wearing them. I made the first one for my daughter and she was a little too big for it and only wore it for a few weeks last spring. My friend saw it and wanted me to make a match for it so her girls can wear them. Happy to do it. They are the first crochet projects I have ever been paid for.

I also spent the day making flowers for this sweater and my daughters sweater that I made last week. It has gotten cool enough here to wear a  jumper which is amazing as it was close to 100 last week.

My computer is taking ForEveR to upload photos this morning and I have to run. I have to get my little one up and off to school and then go to physical therapy for my knee. Then a stop at the post office to mail off the sweaters and then home to clean my messy house. I will show the finished sweaters tomorrow as well as an update on my One A Day blanket I am working on with all squares. I think I need 224 or something crazy and I have 10 so far. Hope everyone has a lovely day and I will be back tomorrow.

Happy Labor Day!

Hello,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend. I meant to post last night and was so busy that before I knew it I was asleep the couch and had to get up and go to bed. We had a busy day yesterday. Autumn and I got up and went out to breakfast and then did a bit shopping. When we got home I tackled cleaning the kitchen and that took up a huge part of the day. When I was done with kitchen I cut my husbands hair. Then we made some chocolate chocolate chunk cookies for our tea party, Autumn used her allowance to buy a new tea set yesterday. After that I made dinner while Autumn and her daddy went out for a walk to go werewolf hunting, they do that almost everynight and it cracks me up. Once we had our dinner and the dishes were done I had some time to work on my One A Day project and to work on a sweater that I want to get finished today so I can get it in the post tomorrow. The sweaters are for my friends 5 year old twin daughters.  It was also cold here yesterday and again today. Hard to believe since it was close to 100 all last week. I am happy for the cool weather, fall is my favorite time of the year. All 3 of us have our birthdays and it is cool and crisp but not icey uet. The changing of the leaves is really pretty in this part of the country too and will start soon. I am still trying to figure out how to move the pictures so that they aren't all at the top of my post. I enabled new post editor but it doesn't seem to be working. I will deep working on it. I learn a bit more about this stuff everyday. See you all tomorrow, or maybe tonight if I get things done today.
